![]() Listen to our celebration of Wolfgang here: There were rumblings of a new Wojtek Mazolewski album and the prolific Wolfgang Dauner passed away – It was going to be a memorable start to the New Year and new decade! And although we had published a few reviews dated 2020 before the year-end, it was Dan Rosenboom who was to be our first review out the gate with his ‘Absurd In The Anthropocene’ album via Orenda/Gearbox. Of the 47 albums received at the very start of the year, Nick Walters ‘Active Imagination’, Alex Jønsson ‘Heathland’, Andrew Canniere ‘Ghost Days’, Jonah Parzen-Johnson ‘Imagine Giving Up’, Muhammad Dawjee ‘Otherness’ and Nick Walters ‘Active Imagination’ were to be some of the most memorable. We had been listening to many 2020 promos over the festive break. The year began with issue one of Maggot Brain, from the Third Man Records stables, landing on the doorstep with a delightful feature on Alice Coltrane. For our best jazz albums of 2019 click here
